Privacy Policy

Word Funnel ("we", "us", or "the game") is a free daily word puzzle. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how it is stored.

1. Information We Collect

a. Google Account Information

When you sign in with Google, we receive and store the following from your Google profile:

• Google account ID — used as your unique player identifier
• Display name — shown on your profile
• Email address — used to identify your account
• Profile picture URL — displayed as your avatar

b. Game Data

When you play, we store the following data linked to your account:

• Daily puzzle results (date, score, words solved, guesses used, retries, difficulty, and completion status)
• Aggregate statistics (total games played, total games completed, total score, best score, current streak, and longest streak)
• Account timestamps (date joined and last login)

c. Session & Local Storage

We use server-side session storage (24-hour timeout) to keep your current game state while you play. We also store a small value in your browser's localStorage to track whether you have seen the latest "What's New" notification. No personal information is stored in either of these mechanisms.

d. Analytics

We use Google Analytics (via the Firebase SDK) to collect anonymous usage data such as page views and general traffic patterns. This data is processed by Google in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy. No personally identifiable game data is sent to Google Analytics.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To save your game progress and display your stats and streaks
• To identify your account across sessions so you don't lose your history
• To understand general usage patterns and improve the game

3. Data Storage

Your data is stored in Google Cloud Firestore, a cloud-hosted NoSQL database. Data is retained for as long as your account exists. We do not sell, share, or provide your personal data to any third parties beyond what is described in this policy.

4. Data Deletion

If you would like your account and all associated data deleted, please contact us and we will remove your player record and game history from our database.

5. Third-Party Services

We rely on the following third-party services:

• Google OAuth 2.0 — for sign-in authentication
• Google Cloud Firestore — for data storage
• Google Analytics / Firebase — for anonymous usage analytics

Each service is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

6. Children's Privacy

Word Funnel is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
